Isopropyl Alcohol IPA 70% Spray — Soap Making Essential to Remove Bubbles
The one soap-making supply no one tells you about — until your first batch comes out with bubbles.
Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) at 70% concentration in a ready-to-use spray bottle is the single most important non-base supply in melt-and-pour soap making. It is spritzed on the surface of freshly poured soap immediately after pouring to pop air bubbles (which form when the hot liquid soap is agitated during pouring), and between layers in layered soap designs to ensure the layers bond together properly.
Without IPA spray, even perfectly made soap bases produce a pitted, bubble-covered surface finish that looks unprofessional. Every soap maker at every skill level uses IPA spray on every single batch.
IPA spray is also essential for tool sanitisation, mould cleaning, and surface sterilisation in any DIY cosmetic production — making it useful far beyond soap making.
Bubble elimination: Spritzed on hot soap surface — the IPA lowers surface tension and pops trapped air bubbles instantly
Sanitisation: 70% IPA is also used as a disinfection concentration
Fast-drying: Evaporates within seconds — leaves no residue on moulds, tools, or soap surfaces
