1  About The Melt Studio

The Melt Studio is a registered brand operated by Ketaki Industries, a cosmetic ingredients manufacturer incorporated in Maharashtra, India. Our registered GST number is displayed on all tax invoices issued. Our website is hosted on the Wix platform.

 

2  Eligibility

By using our website and placing an order, you confirm that:

 

  • You are at least 18 years of age

  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract

  • You are using our website for lawful purposes only

  • The information you provide (name, address, GSTIN if applicable) is accurate and complete

 

3  Products & Descriptions

We make every effort to display our products accurately. However:

 

  • Product photographs are for illustrative purposes. Actual product appearance, colour, and texture may vary slightly from images shown on the website due to photography, screen calibration, and natural batch variation in cosmetic raw materials.

  • Product specifications (TFM value, pH, percentage actives) are stated as typical ranges and may vary within industry-standard tolerances from batch to batch. This is normal for cosmetic raw materials and does not constitute a defect.

  • Fragrance descriptions (top, heart, base notes) are indicative. Scent perception is subjective and may be experienced differently by different individuals.

  • We reserve the right to discontinue, modify, or replace any product without prior notice.

 

4  Pricing

All prices displayed on our website are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable GST unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time you complete checkout and receive an order confirmation email. We are not obligated to honour prices displayed in error.

 

5  Orders & Payment

5.1  Placing an order

When you place an order on our website, you are making an offer to purchase. Your order is confirmed only when you receive an Order Confirmation email from us. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including but not limited to: suspected fraud, pricing errors, stock unavailability, or delivery area limitations.

 

5.2  Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of placing your order. We accept UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking, and wallets via our payment gateway (Razorpay or equivalent). Cash on Delivery (COD) may be available on select orders — subject to pin code serviceability and order value limits as displayed at checkout.

 

5.3  Payment failure

If your payment fails or is declined, your order will not be confirmed. Any amount debited from your account in a failed transaction will be automatically refunded by your bank or payment gateway within 5–7 business days. If you do not receive a refund within this period, contact your bank first, then contact us.

 

6  Intended Use of Products

Our products are sold as cosmetic raw materials and DIY craft supplies for personal use, educational purposes, and small-scale product development. By purchasing from The Melt Studio, you acknowledge:

 

  • You have read and understood the product description, specifications, and usage guidelines before purchasing

  • You are responsible for conducting your own patch test and compatibility assessment before use on skin

  • You are responsible for the safe storage of products, particularly flammable materials (IPA, fragrance oils with low flash points)

  • You understand that raw cosmetic materials require proper handling, formulation knowledge, and — for commercial sale — regulatory compliance under Indian law

  • The Melt Studio is not liable for any adverse reaction, injury, or loss resulting from misuse, incorrect formulation, or failure to follow product guidelines

 

7  Commercial Sale of Products Made Using Our Materials

If you intend to sell finished cosmetic products (soaps, lotions, serums, etc.) made using materials purchased from The Melt Studio, you are solely responsible for:

 Obtaining the appropriate licence under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 (Form 42 for cosmetic manufacturing)

  • Compliance with BIS standards applicable to your finished product categories

  • Accurate, legal labelling in accordance with Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules and Cosmetics labelling requirements

  • GST registration and filing obligations applicable to your business

  • Any product liability arising from finished products sold under your brand

 

The Melt Studio provides raw materials and formulation guidance only. We are not responsible for the regulatory compliance of finished products manufactured and sold by our customers.

 

8  Intellectual Property

All content on The Melt Studio website — including product descriptions, images, logos, formulation guides, recipe cards, blog posts, and marketing copy — is the intellectual property of Ketaki Industries unless otherwise credited. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from our website for commercial purposes without prior written permission. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive licence to view and use the website content for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

 

9  User Conduct

When using our website, you agree not to:

 

  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in a manner that violates Indian law

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website or backend systems

  • Post or submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information

  • Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the operation of our website

  • Use automated bots or scrapers to extract product data or pricing without written consent

 

10  Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law, The Melt Studio and Ketaki Industries shall not be liable for:

 

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our products

  • Loss of profit, revenue, business, or data arising from your use of or inability to use our products or website

  • Adverse skin reactions resulting from failure to patch test, allergy to a disclosed ingredient, or misuse of products

  • Loss or damage to products caused by mishandling, incorrect storage, or exposure to conditions outside our recommended parameters

  • Delays in delivery caused by courier partners, natural events, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control

 

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from a purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product to which the claim relates.

 

11  Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Melt Studio, Ketaki Industries, and their directors, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or damage (including legal costs) arising from: (a) your use of our products in a manner inconsistent with their intended use or our guidelines; (b) your breach of these Terms & Conditions; or (c) your infringement of any third-party rights in connection with products you manufacture using our materials.

 

12  Disclaimer of Warranties

Our products are provided 'as is' and 'as available'. While we take all reasonable steps to ensure product quality, we make no warranty — expressed or implied — that our products will produce a specific cosmetic result when incorporated into your formulations, as results depend on formulation technique, additional ingredients, application method, and individual skin chemistry.

 

13  Force Majeure

We shall not be in breach of these Terms & Conditions, nor liable for delay or failure to fulfil any obligation, where such delay or failure results from an event beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, pandemic, government action, industrial disputes, courier network failures, fire, flood, or infrastructure failure. We will notify you promptly of any such event and take all reasonable steps to resume fulfilment as soon as possible.

 

14  Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising from your use of our website or any purchase shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through direct communication. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Maharashtra, India.

 

15  Amendments

We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The updated version will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Continued use of our website or placing an order after any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

 

16  Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable under applicable Indian law, that provision shall be severed from these terms without affecting the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

 

17  Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, Return & Refund Policy, and Shipping Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Melt Studio / Ketaki Industries with respect to your use of our website and purchase of our products. They supersede all prior communications, representations, or agreements.
