100% Pure Kokum Butter - Cosmetic Grade | For Skin & Hair

100% Pure | Unadulterated | No Dilution | Best Results

India's own skin-healing butter — harder, more conditioning, and more Ayurvedically significant than any imported cosmetic butter.

Kokum Butter (Garcinia indica) is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Kokum tree — a fruit native to India's Western Ghats coast (Konkan region, Kerala, Goa). It is one of India's most historically significant natural butters, used in traditional medicine and cosmetics for centuries — yet relatively unknown in international cosmetics markets, where Shea and Cocoa butter dominate.

What makes Kokum Butter uniquely valuable is its high Stearic and Oleic acid content (over 70%), its extremely hard, brittle texture at room temperature (which makes it a superior hardener in soap and lip balm), and its remarkable non-greasy feel on skin — it absorbs completely without any oiliness. It is softer than cocoa butter but harder than shea, occupying a unique formulation space.

KEY PROPERTIES & BENEFITS

  • Stearic acid (~55%): Skin-softening, barrier-repairing fatty acid; also the primary hardening agent in soap and lip balm

  • Oleic acid (~40%): Deep moisturisation, anti-inflammatory, skin penetration

  • Non-greasy feel: Absorbs completely into skin — ideal for people who find shea butter too heavy

  • Hard texture: Harder than shea — useful as a natural hardener in bar formulations (soap, lotion bar, lip balm)

  • Skin elasticity: Improves skin elasticity and is traditionally used for stretch mark prevention and treatment

WHERE CAN YOU USE IT?

Product Type

How It's Used

Lip balm

15–40% — superior lip balm hardener and conditioner. More conditioning than beeswax. Pairs with Castor Oil and Shea Butter for a non-greasy, long-lasting lip balm.

Body butter

10–30% blended with Shea and Coconut Oil — adds a harder, more structured texture and improves non-greasy feel.

Soap (MP/CP)

2–5% as superfatting butter — adds significant skin conditioning and slight hardening.

Lotion bars

30–50% — Kokum Butter is ideal for solid lotion bars because of its hardness and skin-absorbing profile.

Stretch mark / skin elasticity cream

10–20% in a body cream — traditional Konkan use for skin elasticity and stretch mark prevention.

Hair mask

5–15% — conditioning treatment for very dry or damaged hair. Less heavy than shea, absorbed more easily.

Heel / foot balm

30–50% — hard texture makes it ideal for concentrated foot balms that won't be too soft in India's heat.

Deodorant bars

20–40% — Kokum's hardness and non-greasy absorption makes it excellent in natural deodorant bars.
